THE STORY

About this wine

A dry, medium-bodied Tuscan red built for early drinking — 80% Sangiovese with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon alongside, 13.2% alcohol, aged in stainless steel with no oak. Vibrant ruby in the glass, ripe berry and violets on the nose, a juicy, lively palate.

Altesino’s Rosso Toscana is the estate’s approachable “everyday wine,” a concept introduced with the 1989 harvest. The 2024 is Toscana IGT from Montalcino, Tuscany, made for early accessibility and release drinking.

Worth knowing

The first vintage of this wine was 1989. The 2024 is a run of about 90,000 bottles, every one of them aged in stainless steel with no oak before bottling.

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE Altesino Toscana Rosso 2024

Tasting

Color: Vibrant ruby red with a real glow to it.
Nose: Ripe berries and forest fruit lead, layered with violets, black olives, stones, and a mineral edge. Underneath there's more ripe red and blue fruit, with just a light touch of herbal spice.
Palate: Smooth, juicy, and supple, with bright red fruit and hints of blackberry through the middle. Lively acidity keeps it moving, and the whole thing stays balanced, medium-bodied, and dry — no oak in the way.
