The Story Of Preface Wine

Preface started with a simple observation: the wine world has a way of making people feel like they're either in the club or they're not. We thought that was worth changing.

So we opened a room in Pineapple Grove, in the heart of Delray Beach, where curiosity is the only thing you need to walk in with. By day we're a wine shop. Browse the shelf, scan a label, learn a little about what's in the bottle before you open it. At 4pm the lights warm up, the shelves slide back, and we become a wine bar built around finding your next favorite.

Maybe you already know what you like — a cold Sauvignon Blanc, a big Cabernet — and you just want a good glass poured right. Maybe you want to dig a little deeper and figure out why certain wines click for you and others don't. Maybe a friend told you this place feels different, no pretension, no judgment, and you came in to see what that means.

All of those are the right reasons. We're glad you're here.

Behind the counter, we built our own little piece of technology. It remembers what you've liked, notices what surprised you, and nudges you toward what to try next. You'll never feel like you're talking to a machine. It feels more like someone who's been paying attention.

We think wine is at its best when it's personal, easy, and a little less serious than the wine world tends to insist on. No jargon, no secret rules, nothing to prove. Just a really good glass, with friends or on your own, however you like it.
