THE STORY

About this wine

Crisp, mineral, fruit-driven Pinot Grigio from Alto Adige with more richness than the grape usually gives — handpicked at the foot of the Alps, late in the season for extra maturity, citrus and ripe apple and lychee riding bright acidity to a clean finish.

Barone Fini is a family-owned Bonmartini-Fini winery with more than 500 years of history in Italy’s Trentino-Alto Adige region. The producer distinguishes its Pinot Grigio Alto Adige DOC from its separate Valdadige DOC bottling; the Alto Adige wine is harvested later for greater maturity, complexity, and richness. The available producer material describes the wine generally rather than providing a 2025-specific technical sheet, so vintage-specific details such as alcohol are left unreported.

Worth knowing

The story starts with a wedding. The Bonmartini and Fini families were joined by marriage in 1497, and the winemaking heritage behind this bottle traces back to it.

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE Barone Fini Pinot Grigio Alto Adige 2025

Tasting

Color: White in the glass.
Nose: Citrus leads, then warm ripe apple and lychee, with mountain herbs and flowers settling in behind.
Palate: The richness is real for a Pinot Grigio, and the wine stays crisp and mineral anyway. Bright acidity holds it in check, carrying ripe apple and lychee through a clean, lingering finish.

Pairs Beautifully With

A must try with Crudités and fresh raw vegetable plates
A must try with Cioppino and tomato-based seafood stews
A must try with Tiramisù and creamy desserts
