THE STORY

About this wine

Sweet, botrytized Sauternes from Château La Tour Blanche's second label — full-bodied and unctuous, honeyed apple and pineapple chutney with jasmine and honeysuckle behind it, vibrant acidity keeping everything fresh. A 375 ml half-bottle at 14.5% abv.

Emotions de La Tour Blanche is the second label of Château La Tour Blanche, a Premier Cru Classé estate in the 1855 Sauternes classification. The estate is in Bommes and is owned by the French state/Region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine; it also houses the La Tour Blanche School of Viticulture. The 2022 wine is made from hand-harvested grapes and non-retained must from the estate’s Grand Vin.

Worth knowing

No oak here. Les Emotions is vinified and aged for eighteen months in stainless steel, drawn from the non-retained must of the estate's Grand Vin — the 2022 run was 650 cases, 196 of them imported.

Blend

  • Sémillon
  • Sauvignon Blanc
  • Muscadelle

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE Chateau La Tour Blanche Les Emotions Sauternes 2022

Tasting

Color: A white that pours gold.
Nose: Apple and pineapple chutney lead, jasmine and honeysuckle close behind, the fruit character honeyed and exotic, with a subtle hint of green fig underneath.
Palate: Sweet and plump on entry, with vibrant acidity doing the lifting: silky, concentrated, full-bodied and unctuous rather than heavy, finishing long on green fig and spice.

Pairs Beautifully With

A must try with blue cheeses such as Roquefort
A must try with foie gras and rich terrines
A must try with fruit tarts and lightly spiced desserts
