THE STORY

About this wine

Dry, medium-bodied Willamette Valley Pinot Noir from organically grown, biodynamic estate vineyards — blueberry, flowers and cherry up front, hints of earth and flint underneath, then fresh raspberry and dark cherry carried by bracing acidity and moderate tannins. The 750 ml bottle carries 13% ABV.

Cooper Mountain Vineyards is a family-owned Oregon winery established in the late 1970s, with two generations of the Gross family involved and Gilles de Domingo overseeing winemaking since 2004. The 2022 Pinot Noir is an estate-grown Willamette Valley wine made from organically grown and biodynamic grapes.

Worth knowing

No added yeast, no fining agents — the wine settles clear on its own. The 2022 draws on four older estate vineyards, Old Vines among them, planted in 1978.

Tasting

Color: It shows red in the glass.
Nose: Blueberry and cherry lead with a floral lift, and underneath come hints of earth and flint.
Palate: Fresh and medium-bodied. Vivid raspberry and dark cherry ride bracing acidity, moderate tannins give it shape, and the texture stays mouthwatering — a lively red that drinks now and keeps.
