THE STORY

About this wine

A Pommard Premier Cru from the Les Fremiers climat, crafted from 100% Pinot Noir. The 2022 opens with an expressive, fruity and spicy nose, moves into a frank attack with balanced power and fine tannins, and finishes lingering.

Domaine Coste-Caumartin is a family domaine in Pommard whose winegrowing history dates to 1793. The estate is based in historic buildings with a courtyard and well dated 1641, and is managed by Benoît Sordet, who has led a fresher, more elegant stylistic direction since 2014. The 2022 vintage is described as rich but fresh. This wine is Pommard Premier Cru from the Les Fremiers climat.

Worth knowing

Les Fremiers lies uphill from the domaine's La Rue au Port parcel and borders the Fremiets of Volnay, which is why the 2022 carries a particularly pure, finely detailed edge with something of Volnay's character. The domaine is HVE-certified for sustainable viticulture.
