THE STORY

About this wine

Dry village Puligny-Montrachet from a family domaine at work in the village since 1859. The 2024 pours clear and crystalline with a fresh green tint — white flowers, vetiver and discreet oak leading, then a full-bodied, generous palate carried by mineral tension, lively acidity and ripe citrus. It reads focused and more linear than opulent, best from 2027 to 2030.

Domaine Jean Chartron was founded in 1859 by Jean-Édouard Dupard and remains a five-generation family estate based in Puligny-Montrachet. The domaine farms approximately 14.5 hectares and is associated with prestigious Côte de Beaune vineyards; current management is identified as Jean-Michel Chartron and Anne-Laure Chartron.

Worth knowing

The "Montrachet" in Puligny-Montrachet was added to the village name in 1873, and the estate's founder, Jean-Édouard Dupard, had a hand in that decision. Neighbouring Chassagne later did the same.

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE Domaine Jean Chartron Puligny-Montrachet 2024

Tasting

Color: Clear and crystalline in the glass, with a fresh green tint.
Nose: White flowers and fine herbs that recall vetiver up front. Discreet oak sits underneath, with a suggestion of liquorice.
Palate: Full-bodied and generous, yet fine-boned and energetic — mineral tension and lively acidity form the frame. Ripe citrus leads the fruit, and a fleshier layer of plum sits over the structural core.
