Citrus Green Apple Mineral White Flowers

Aperitif hour, the table still getting set, nobody hungry yet. Pour it cold while the raclette melts — bright, a little salty, stone under it.

THE STORY

About this wine

Sixty-five percent Altesse, thirty-five percent Jacquère, off fifty-year-old vines in Chautagne and Abymes — a fresh, energetic Alpine white from a Haute-Savoie domaine founded in 2021. Ripe pear, green apple and citrus ride crisp acidity into a stony, saline finish at 12% alcohol.

Domaine Les Aricoques was founded in 2021 by childhood friends Guillaume Bellon and Romain Dupont. The estate is based in Frangy in Haute-Savoie, where the pair work a small Alpine property and also make this négoce cuvée from like-minded organic growers.

Worth knowing

'Frangypans' — that's what people from Frangy are called. The 'Pan!' on the label takes its name from the nickname, from the Haute-Savoie village where Guillaume Bellon and Romain Dupont based the domaine.

Blend

  • Altesse 65%

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE Domaine Les Aricoques 'Pan!' Le Blanc 2024

Tasting

Color: White in the glass.
Nose: Ripe pear leads, green apple and citrus behind, then white flowers and a subtle Alpine-herb thread.
Palate: Bright and energetic at 12% alcohol. Crisp acidity carries a gentle texture into a finish that lands distinctly stony and saline.
