Black Pepper Mineral Raspberry Strawberry

Tartiflette night. Give it a light chill and pull the cork early, because it brightens and firms as it sits — strawberry, pepper, a mineral edge.

THE STORY

About this wine

A light-bodied Alpine red from Frangy, in Haute-Savoie — 85 percent Gamay and 15 percent Mondeuse from old vines over glacial moraine and limestone-clay. Bright strawberry and raspberry, peppery spice, and a mineral, chalky finish.

Domaine Les Aricoques was founded in 2021 by childhood friends Romain Dupont and Guillaume Bellon, who farm a small estate in Frangy, Haute-Savoie.

Worth knowing

People from Frangy are nicknamed "Frangypans" — that's where the "Pan!" on the label comes from.
