THE STORY

About this wine

Alcohol-free Moscatel from Penedès, non-vintage and bottled at 0.0% ABV — bright pale straw yellow, fine, persistent bubbles, white flowers, citrus, green apple, and peach on the nose, and a light, lively, fruity palate with balanced acidity, subtle sweetness, and a clean finish.

Freixenet Legero is a dealcoholized, non-vintage sparkling white from Spain. The producer describes the related current alcohol-free Sparkling White as being made by fermenting a base wine and removing the alcohol by vacuum distillation; the product is bottled after fining, filtration, and adjustment of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Regional and market-specific listings differ in naming, grape composition, residual sugar, and stated alcohol level, so the profile reflects the exact Legero listing where available and identifies current producer information separately.

Worth knowing

The alcohol doesn't get skipped, it gets removed. The Moscatel ferments fully into a base wine first, then vacuum distillation at around 40 °C lifts the alcohol out — dealcoholization, not grape juice mixed with carbonation.

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE Freixenet Legero White Alcohol-Free Sparkling

Tasting

Color: Bright pale straw yellow with silver highlights, and a fine, persistent stream of bubbles.
Nose: Muscat out front — white flowers, then white peach and honeydew, a tropical lift underneath, citrus and green apple keeping it all fresh and expressive.
Palate: Light, smooth, and lively, the fruit doing the moving: ripe pear and peach up front, a touch of honey behind, balanced acidity underneath, and a crisp, clean finish where the sweetness stays subtle.
