Brioche Citrus Hazelnut Mineral White Flowers

The aperitif that won't stay an aperitif. Mostly 2021 harvest with 2020 reserves behind it, so pour it cold with tuna tartare — aromatic, saline, quietly deep.

THE STORY

About this wine

Dry multi-vintage Brut Champagne, 70% of the blend from the 2021 harvest and 30% from 2020 reserves: light gold, lime and mandarin over brioche and fresh hazelnut, a pure, fresh, delicately saline palate, long and deep at the finish.

Lallier Réflexion R.021 is a multi-vintage Brut Champagne based on the 2021 harvest (70%) and 2020 reserve wines (30%). It is described as the first Réflexion release fully overseen by cellar master Dominique Demarville, expressing Lallier’s balance of purity, freshness, intensity, and depth.

Worth knowing

The edition number is not decoration: R.021 names its principal harvest, 2021, which supplies 70% of the blend, with reserve wines from 2020 covering the remaining 30%. The wine spends about 36 months on its lees and finishes at 7 g/L dosage.

Blend

  • Pinot Noir 49%
  • Chardonnay 44%
  • Meunier 7%

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE Lallier Réflexion R.021

Tasting

Color: Light yellow in the glass, with golden hues.
Nose: Lime and mandarin out front, elegant white flowers behind them, then brioche and fresh hazelnut as the mature notes surface. White blossom, pastry and chalk build underneath, and a touch of pink grapefruit pith stays in the background.
Palate: Pure and fresh from the attack, a delicate saline sensation running through it. Pinot Noir supplies the power and structure, Meunier the roundness, and the finish lands long, deep and aromatic.
