THE STORY

About this wine

Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger — pure Chardonnay on chalk, bottled in 2015, disgorged March 2022, dosed at 6.5 g/L.

Le Mesnil Millésime 2014 is a vintage Blanc de Blancs Champagne from the Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Grand Cru terroir in the Côte des Blancs. The wine was bottled in 2015, disgorged in March 2022, and dosed at 6.5 g/L. Its cuvée combines equal parts wine that underwent malolactic fermentation and wine that did not, preserving both texture and freshness.

Worth knowing

The split is deliberate: half the wine went through malolactic, half skipped it, so the bottle carries both the roundness that fermentation brings and the crispness the other half kept.

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE Le Mesnil Grand Cru Brut Vintage 2014

Tasting

Color: Bright gold with amber tones. A fine, persistent mousse.
Nose: Fresh fruit and minerality lead, then brioche rises — citrus peel, almond pastry, lemon curd behind it.
Palate: Lively and citrus-driven on entry, lemon and grapefruit with a hint of physalis. Cream gathers around the fine bubbles, saline underneath, and fine acidity carries a long, persistent finish.
