THE STORY

About this wine

Fresh, crisp, saline Sancerre from a fourth-generation family estate at Maimbray in Sury-en-Vaux — dry, unoaked, medium-bodied Sauvignon Blanc, lime and green zest up front, herbs and mineral behind, and a cleansing finish.

Matthias et Émile Roblin is a fourth-generation family estate based in Maimbray, in Sury-en-Vaux, a few kilometres northwest of Sancerre. The estate farms approximately 20 hectares in around 40 parcels and produces wines exclusively within the Sancerre appellation. Matthias took over the family estate in 2000; Émile later joined the domaine.

Worth knowing

The domaine's 2024 Origine Blanc, this bottle's cuvée, was among the 2025 Sancerre appellation medal recipients, representing Sury-en-Vaux. Gravity-fed cellar work and minimal-intervention winemaking run through everything the family bottles.

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE Matthias Roblin Sancerre 2024

Tasting

Color: Bright straw, drifting toward light yellow, with green glints.
Nose: Fresh herbs and lemongrass lead, lime just behind, then crushed apple and peachy chamomile underneath, citrus peel emerging last.
Palate: Straight and vivid on entry, crisp and saline through the middle, green zest and lime carrying stone fruit into a cleansing, mineral finish.
