THE STORY

About this wine

Dry, unoaked Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from Nautilus Estate — the fortieth vintage of the wine, with lifted lemongrass, blackcurrant bud and grapefruit aromas, lime-zest flavour, plush texture and a mineral, saline finish.

Nautilus is a small, family-owned winery in Marlborough, New Zealand, producing wines since 1985. The 2025 release marks the 40th vintage of its Sauvignon Blanc. The wine was machine-harvested in cool conditions, fermented in stainless steel with aromatic and non-Saccharomyces yeasts, and aged on its lees to build texture.

Worth knowing

Forty vintages of Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc, and the 2025 still finds something new: 2% of the wine fermented in barrel while the rest was made in stainless steel, and it was selected for the 2025 Appellation Marlborough Wine Collection.

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc 2025

Tasting

Color: White in the glass.
Nose: Lemongrass, fresh blackcurrant bud and ripe grapefruit lead, then pear, cape gooseberry, white pineapple and fresh basil underneath. The lift is intense but everything stays layered and restrained rather than overtly tropical.
Palate: Plush and fleshy in the middle, its lees-derived creaminess carried on a backbone of lively acidity.

Pairs Beautifully With

A must try with Fresh shellfish and oysters
A must try with Lemongrass and lime dishes with fresh green herbs
