Citrus Dried Violet Mineral Raspberry Rose Petals

A salmon fillet off the grill, skin still crisp. Give the bottle a slight chill and let the red fruit run — juicy, citrus-bright, dusty at the edges.

THE STORY

About this wine

Dry, medium-bodied, 100% Pinot Noir from the Dundee Hills AVA in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The 2023 is an appellation blend, bottled unfined and unfiltered, with violets, raspberry, and rose over a succulent, citrus-fresh palate and dusty tannins.

White Walnut Estate is an organic and biodynamic producer in Oregon’s Dundee Hills AVA. The estate was established by winemaker Chris Mazepink on a former walnut orchard and farms approximately 6.3 planted acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The 2023 Dundee Hills bottling is a regional blend, bottled unfined and unfiltered as part of the producer’s minimal-intervention approach.

Worth knowing

The walnut trees never came out — more than seventy years old, still standing from the property's orchard days. The vineyard takes the same wide view: dozens of Pinot Noir selections and clones rather than a single clone.

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTING TIPS OF THE White Walnut Pinot Noir Dundee Hill 2023

Tasting

Color: Ruby red in the glass.
Nose: Wilted violets, raspberry paste, and Swiss chocolate lead. Red rose petals and dried baking spice follow, with the layers underneath — red forest berries, pomegranate, blood orange, hibiscus.
Palate: Blueberry, lavender, and a mineral edge open it, and the middle is all succulent fruit — red forest berries, pomegranate, blood orange, hibiscus. Medium-bodied and fruit-driven, with a finish on citrus freshness, dusty tannins, and good length.

Pairs Beautifully With
